TRANSPORTATION SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications from Friday, April 26, 2024 through Monday, May 13, 2024 for Temporary Summer Employment in our Transportation Department.                     

Bus Drivers (34)

• Current SPS Bus Drivers receive current hourly rate;
• All non-SPS employees will be paid at an hourly rate commensurate with their experience as a school bus driver;
• Requires Class B Commercial Drivers License and Oregon Department of Education School Bus Drivers Certificate;
• Routes run June 17-August 31, 2024;
• Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.

 Type-10 Van Drivers (5)

• Current SPS Van Drivers receive current hourly rate;
  • All other SPS employees or non-SPS employees, $16.55/hour (23-24 rate);
• Requires ODE Type-10 Certificate prior to the start of the route (training and testing on site);
  
• Routes run June 17-August 31, 2024;
• Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.

Bus Detailers (2)

• $17.34/hour (30-hours per week);
• 2 positions from June 17-August 23, 2024.

Transportation Bus Assistants (10)

• Current SPS EA’s will be paid their current hourly rate;
• All other SPS employees or non-SPS employees-$17.34 per hour;
• June 17-August 31, 2024, variable hours;
• Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.

 Assistant Trainers (2)

• Current SPS Trainers, current hourly rate
• 2 positions from July 1-31, 2024
• Requires Class B Commercial Driver’s License and Oregon Department of Education School Bus Drivers Certificate

 

Note: Bus drivers or aides may also apply for Bus Detailer positions.  Assignments may overlap if there are labor shortages identified by management.
